Blackhills Bonfire 2010

I have been home this weekend up in Bradford to help to run the Blackhill’s Bonfire, we had lots of turn out after a hard day working/ cooking and getting everything ready for lots of visitors to our campsite. Mostly running around in a wet field to get them parked. But later on we was greeted with our good mates who we met originally in Finland at Kilke was amazing seeing them again and planning lots of meet ups for the future. The fireworks was also amazing and everyone went home happy ready for service team to spring into action once again to clean everything up and get everything back to the right people as everything seems to come from all over.

Was nice seeing my Mum aswell as only been a couple of months since started university but still my heart misses home and been around some of the fantastic people I know.

A Day in the Life of me

Well been a long but not very busy day!

So this morning we have been making the first steps on our project making “Battleships” this is a console version so don’t get your hopes up all text based but still I’m enjoying it.

Other things that happened today:
Brought my ticket to go to Bletchley Park in Feb which should be amazing learning more about the history of Computing in terms of the war.

Also found out today my money hasn’t been taken out for rent from my university which is quite concerning so I went to go see someone about it, after long time in ques I set up and chip and pined my largest amount of money, don’t fancy doing that most days but direct debit now set up which is good!

Tonight was another enjoyable tutorial with Rob Miles just solving a few problems other people had with there Battleships project I was fairly sorted with mine but picked up a few tips on how I should be making it and a few how to get a couple extra marks which all counts!

Now I’m sat on a train off to Blackhills eventually which is nice to have a socket and internet on a train passes boredom alot! Thank you Mr Desire for my wonderful fast internet! (Lucky not many tunnels)

So that’s my life of the day hopefully get “home” soon then sleep! After seeing everyone I ain’t seen for a few months of course!

Automation

The joys of automation, I happened to totally forget about the clocks going back today but still my phone adapted and woke me up at “normal” time my computer was the correct time and everything just worked!… Leaving me the user with just a extra hour of sleep :) . Thanks Tech!

A weekend off University Work

So this weekend is the first weekend Sarah came up to see me while at University, was a very good weekend in summary.

On the Saturday went to the Vue Cinema to see “Despicable Me” in 3D which was excellent who cares if it was made for the younger people it was still amazing. The story line was very well constructed and involved many of the features of a great movie. The orange helpers was hilarious such emotion in there faces which just made you laugh with them. So overall the movie was a good 4 star. Also a quick comment on the Vue was the 3D used a different type of 3D to the “Real3d” which we got back in Bradford which seemed better due to the lenses was better constructed then just a bit of film but didn’t get to keep them unfortunately!

Rest of the weekend we just chilled out going for walks/ shopping/ eating/ Starbucks. The useral hanging out things you do in cities which was really quite fun catching up.

Ca’t wait to go “home” to Blackhills to the bonfire now only two weeks away which should be a brilliant night find more details out on http://blackhillscampsite.org.uk.

That’s everything for now just a quick catch up on life! Now to logic coursework!

App 2 SD

Welcome to my first review of Android Applications

Aoo 2 SD QR Code

Price: Free

The first one I want to review is a application I have been recommended to install and is highly useful for Android 2.2 phones.

This application is a tool to help manage your applications from been on your phone as we always know we want lots of applications and Android 2.2 has finally let us to install them to the SD card but of course in hast or out of forgetting to navigate the many menus we leave applications on our phone and not our SD.

So this is a simple application to solve this problem by making the option just a click away to open the menu to move this to the SD card.

The only problem I have had with it is when you have many applications on your phone the list of applications that are ready to move sometimes takes a while to come up even though you can see it in the background so may be a suggestion is to not make it take over the whole screen while refreshing the applications.

Hope this was a useful review.

Bye for now
